Position Overview

This role serves as an entry-level opportunity focused on training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on material handling equipment and various facility support systems within the distribution center.
  • Ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of spare parts usage, inventory, and work order actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks, including but not limited to refrigeration systems, plumbing, building lighting, welding, dock doors, air systems, racking, tote washers, and air spray painting.
  • Maximizing the availability of batteries by managing charging cycles and implementing battery rotation strategies.
  • Conducting inspections and cleaning, evaluating cable serviceability, and repairing any damage.
  • Developing a solid understanding of the McLane Maintenance Connection database.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance.
  • At least 1 year of experience maintaining material handling equipment.
  • The ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics.
  • Experience with industrial equipment commonly found in distribution centers, such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, tuggers, and carts.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance databases like MP2, DataStream 7i, or Maintenance Connection.
