Responsibilities:
  • Schedule intake appointments, verify patient information, and prepare medical records.
  • Check in patients, escort them to and from the waiting room, and interview patients to gather vital signs and medical history.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient intakes and provide support as needed.
  • Collect blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phones, managing messages, and preparing reports.
  • Triage patient inquiries, manage phone contacts, and distribute lab results to healthcare professionals.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18.
  • Certified or registered Medical Assistant.
  • Phlebotomy skills required.
  • CPR/BCLS certification.
  • Familiarity with State Regulations, DEA regulations, and TJC/CARF Accreditation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and patient management software.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with patients and demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude towards the Substance Use Disorder population.
  • 1-2 years of prior healthcare experience preferred.
