Job Summary:
As a key member of the Geisinger Health System team, this Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospital Medicine role provides high-quality patient care in collaboration with physicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and establish presumptive diagnoses, implementing treatment plans for patients.
  • Make accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Prescribe medications or therapies, adjusting or discontinuing as appropriate.
  • Evaluate and report to collaborating physicians any circumstances or approaches to medical management that present a significant risk to patient health or well-being.
  • Perform procedures within the scope of practice for the nurse practitioner license.
  • Communicate effectively with collaborative physicians, patients, primary care physicians, and referring staff through telephone or other means of correspondence.
  • Provide safe, ethical care and health education to patients and their families, acting as their advocate.
  • Interpret and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.

Requirements:

Education:
Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required)

Experience:

Certification(s) and License(s):
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
