Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for overseeing the fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role ensures that quality standards and industry benchmarks are upheld or enhanced throughout the manufacturing process. The engineer will also supervise the installation and upkeep of various equipment, including centralized heating, gas, water, and steam systems. Additionally, the position involves evaluating mechanical products for cost-effectiveness and efficiency, and may include assessing field installations to recommend design improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilizes engineering principles to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical systems.
  • Interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Collaborates with engineers and other personnel to establish operating procedures, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical guidance.
  • Conducts research and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other documentation to assess feasibility, costs, and maintenance needs.
  • Specifies system components or directs modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance standards.
  • Investigates equipment malfunctions to diagnose issues and provides recommendations to the maintenance team.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • An Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a relevant engineering function.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or collaboratively.
    • Problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
    • Proficiency in applied mechanics, design engineering, and design optimization.
    • Experience with CAD and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software.
