Servicing and retaining Personal Insurance accounts is a key responsibility of this role. The candidate will work closely with producers, clients, and prospects to ensure comprehensive coverage that meets agency procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all account transactions, including applications, quotations, ID cards, proposals, summaries, endorsements, cancellations, certificates, binders, billing, follow-up, and correspondence on assigned accounts in accordance with the agency's procedures and timelines.
- Service personal lines accounts effectively, eliminating gaps in coverage and reducing E&O exposure.
- Coordinate expirations by contacting clients and obtaining renewal information on assigned accounts in line with the agency's timelines and procedures.
- Prepare quotations, coverage summaries, and comparisons, as well as proposals and recommendations, to ensure clients' and prospects' understanding of coverage.
- If necessary, obtain information, deliver, or present quotes to clients outside the office.
- Review new applications for underwriting acceptability, completion, and accuracy.
- Verify new business, renewals, and endorsements to ensure items were received as requested and processed accurately.
- Survey policy coverage and identify opportunities for cross-selling and upgrading.
- Contribute to helping producers achieve assigned new business sales goals.
- Maintain client files on the agency management system(s) and use them for processing all transactions and documenting conversations.
- Effectively utilize carrier websites or programs required to quote or maintain policies for clients or prospects.
- Maintain an effective suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and overdue items.
Additional Requirements:
- Participate in seminars and training sessions to maintain required licenses and develop knowledge and skills.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as requested.
Personal and Organizational Development:
This role requires setting priorities and managing workflow efficiently to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and responsibilities. Additionally, maintaining cordial and effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts is essential. It is also crucial to stay informed about industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. The ability to interact with others effectively through good communication skills, cooperation, and providing guidance as needed is vital to achieving the agency's business goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of personal lines coverages and policies. A high school education or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance is required. Holding an AAI, CIC, or CISR designation is preferred. A Property & Casualty Insurance License is also required. The ability to analyze complex insurance situations, communicate options verbally and in writing, understand written and oral communication, interpret abstract information, and manage complex projects simultaneously is essential. Strong computer skills with familiarity with tools like Outlook, Excel, Word, and AMS360 are also necessary. Finally, negotiation and presentation skills are critical in this role.

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and speed are essential for completing tasks successfully. Complex systems require efficient processing, and the ability to manage multiple steps is vital.
