About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at City of Hope's Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC). As a key member of our oncology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our comprehensive cancer program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, triage, and care for oncology patients who require prompt medical attention
  • Coordinate patient care during treatment and transfer to appropriate levels of care
  • Assess and recognize normal/abnormal responses to treatments and institute appropriate interventions
  • Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, and monitor patients for side effects
  • Collect blood specimens and blood cultures
  • Care for patients with invasive lines, including IV lines, central lines, ports, and pleural catheters
  • Maintain and care for patients with ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy
  • Provide basic wound assessment and care, including wet to dry dressing, staple and suture removal, surgical tape, and wound drain removal
  • Implement and provide care for patients receiving therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Conduct risk assessment, prevention, and treatment of pressure injury
  • Manage the inpatient admission process, including completion of the KBC, medication reconciliation, and assessment/documentation flowsheets
Requirements
  • 1 year experience in acute care and/or urgent care
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
