Job Overview

Compensation: $20

Location: South Sacramento

Position Summary

The Bakery Production Associate is an entry-level role responsible for operating various machinery involved in the production and packaging processes. This position reports directly to the Line Supervisor and plays a crucial role in assisting with the operation of equipment related to production and packaging.

The Associate will receive training from a subject matter expert according to established work instructions and is expected to become proficient in operating the assigned machinery. While the Associate may not be skilled in all equipment used in production and packaging, they will focus on mastering one machine to qualify for advancement to a Senior Operator position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality regulations.
  • Monitor production areas to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in training and cross-training of team members as needed.
  • Support break and lunch rotations for employees as directed.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of products and operational requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of responsibility during and after production runs.
  • Oversee finished product quality, aiming to minimize defects and maximize throughput.
  • Communicate effectively with Bakery team members and supervisors to address challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
  • Capability to push and pull up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Willingness to stand for 8-12 hours a day.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Non-slip safety footwear is required.
  • Compliance with all PPE and GMP requirements, including restrictions on jewelry and cosmetics.

Work Environment

This position is set in a manufacturing environment that adheres to GMP standards. The workspace may be hot and noisy, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere. Awareness of gluten and flour allergies is essential.
