Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nutritionist Associate to join our team at the Virginia Department of Health. As a key member of our WIC program, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and providing nutrition education to participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct WIC appointments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to participants
  • Assess dietary intake and nutritional status
  • Make referrals to registered dietitians as needed
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the WIC program and current therapeutic diets
  • Principles of nutrition and nutrition standards
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse participants and staff
  • Strong communication and counseling skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training or experience in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain a Competent Professional Authority status (CPA) within 6 months
