Job Overview

Maximus is currently hiring a skilled Data Engineer to support our Indiana Eligibility team. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home or office while contributing to our mission. The ideal candidate will have experience leading data engineering efforts for complex projects and be proficient in Snowflake architecture and management.

The successful Data Engineer will collect data from multiple sources into a single pipeline in Snowflake, utilizing their knowledge of SQL, Python, AWS, ETL/ELT, and machine learning principles. They will also develop and maintain data integration solutions, semantic layer objects, presentation objects, reports, and dashboards for delivery of analytic solutions. Additionally, they will analyze requirements and apply architectural and engineering concepts to develop solutions that meet business needs while maintaining sustainability objectives such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering business intelligence (BI) information to the entire organization, including assessing business requirements, collecting and identifying technical specifications, and developing technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain data integration solutions (including ETL/ELT design and architecture), semantic layer objects, presentation objects, reports, and dashboards for delivery of analytic solutions.
- Translate business needs and requirements to system requirements, data mapping, and data and semantic model design.
- Analyze requirements and apply architectural and engineering concepts to develop solutions that meet business needs while maintaining sustainability objectives.
- Provide training and consulting for various technical and non-technical internal teams.
- Produce work breakdowns and task estimates (scoping and tracking activities).
- Produce and document standard and best practices.
- Provide level 3 support for production systems.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical role engineering data and/or analytics solutions.
- May have additional training or education in area of specialization.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering data-centric projects.
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation of business and system requirements, system design, data architecture, and training materials.
- Excellent data skills, including complex queries, performance tuning, expertise in a variety of approaches (e.g., relational, dimensional, unstructured).
- Skilled in building data and semantic layers utilizing enterprise analytic tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, or PowerBI.

Desirable Skills:
- At least 2 years of experience in Snowflake AWS, Machine Learning Models, GitHub, Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, PowerBI/Tableau, and Data Warehousing.
- Indiana residency preferred.
