Overview:
The Fountain-Fort Carson School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Special Education Teacher for students with moderate needs. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing tailored educational support to our students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate special education strategies into the classroom.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and needs.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
2. A valid teaching certificate in Colorado, with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Must meet the Highly Qualified standards set by the Colorado Department of Education.
- Endorsement in Special Education is required.
- OR -
- Successful completion of the PLACE Special Education Generalist exam.
- Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in any field who are currently enrolled in or willing to enroll in a Special Education program are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates in a Teacher Education or Alternative Licensure program are also eligible.
3. Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Compensation:
Salary is determined based on educational qualifications and years of experience. Horizontal advancements are available based on graduate-level credits and professional development hours obtained post-degree.

The Fountain-Fort Carson School District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid time off. Contributions from both the district and employees are available for many of these benefits.

Employment Period:
The position requires a commitment of 186 days per academic year.
