Position Summary: We are seeking a Financial Services Advisor to join our team.
Role Responsibilities: The Financial Services Advisor will engage with prospective students and current enrollees to assess their eligibility for federal financial aid programs. This includes calculating potential awards for PELL, SEOG, Stafford/Direct loans, and other Title IV and non-Title IV funding options. The advisor is responsible for packaging and awarding all forms of financial aid for each academic year and ensuring accurate data entry into the Student Information Systems in compliance with regulatory standards. Upholding a high ethical standard is essential in guiding students through the financial aid process.
Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated starting pay for this role is approximately $31.00 per hour. Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with flexible spending and health savings accounts. Employees can earn two to three weeks of paid vacation within the first five years, in addition to eleven paid holidays. We also provide state-compliant sick leave, disability coverage, and company-sponsored life insurance. Furthermore, a 401k profit-sharing plan with a discretionary match and tuition assistance is available to our staff.
Qualifications: To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following educational and experiential criteria:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Eligibility for Professional Access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is required.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in financial advising or training is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and database software is necessary.
- Experience with Student Financial Aid software is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial.
