Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Birth Suites team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing women's services activities, workflow, and nursing resources.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze health data to develop and implement individualized plans of care for women and newborns.
  • Coordinate care delivery to promote woman-, newborn-, and family-centered care within your scope of practice.
  • Employ health teaching strategies to promote, maintain, or restore health within a safe environment.
  • Evaluate progress toward expected outcomes in the context of woman, newborn, and family-centered care.
  • Determine decisions and actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns in an ethical manner.
  • Practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Communicate and collaborate with women, families, healthcare providers, and the community to provide safe and holistic care.
  • Serve as a role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor to women, families, healthcare consumers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge and competencies that reflect current evidence-based nursing practice for women, newborns, and families.
  • Generate or integrate evidence to identify, examine, validate, and evaluate interprofessional knowledge, theories, and varied approaches in providing care to women and newborns.
  • Practice, evaluate, and implement new measures to improve the quality of nursing practice for women and newborns.
  • Evaluate your own nursing practice and participate in the evaluation of others in relation to current evidence-based consumer care information, professional practice standards and guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Consider resource factors related to safety, effectiveness, technological advances, and fiscal responsibility when planning and delivering care to women and newborns.
  • Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner when planning and delivering care to women, newborns, and families.
  • Apply existing evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to women's services nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient's age-specific needs and clinical needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of employment.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Essentials certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
