About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a strong passion for connecting individuals with life-changing opportunities. As an Outreach and Admissions Counselor, you will be responsible for the recruitment and arrival coordination of Job Corps students, identifying and developing beneficial partnerships that lead to student success, and determining student qualifications, eligibility, and suitability for Job Corps enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and coordinate the arrival of Job Corps students
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies, employment services, high schools, trade and technical schools, and other agencies to inform prospective applicants about the Job Corps program
  • Conduct comprehensive screening procedures to determine applicants' eligibility and suitability for the Job Corps Program
  • Secure and evaluate applicants' behavioral, medical, and educational records
  • Deny applicant enrollment and refer applicants to other educational resources
  • Conduct thorough assessment activities and career counseling during the admissions process
  • Serve as a liaison to Center staff to facilitate a seamless enrollment process and early student retention
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or a closely related field
  • Two years of related experience required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience may include successful Job Corps enrollment or successful enrollment in other youth development programs
