This role involves a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence a few days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate a wide array of business needs, perform system research and analysis to pinpoint essential elements for solution delivery and issue resolution.
  • Revise and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Create new software applications and conduct unit/component testing for development projects that align with business requirements and adhere to technology architecture standards.
  • Document design choices, process flows, and data models while ensuring compliance with code quality standards and software development life cycle (SDLC), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively regarding development requirements and contribute to project planning, estimation, timelines, and status updates to assist management and clients in prioritizing projects based on IT needs and business goals.
  • Notify key stakeholders of any issues that could affect other project areas and resolve or escalate these issues as necessary.
  • Assist business inquiries and activities through the execution of minor enhancements and fixes (e.g., source code modifications).
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, and other technology developers to ensure that configurations and custom components fulfill application requirements and performance objectives.
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficient in Java 8 or later and any relational database management system (RDBMS).
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design principles.
  • Experience with PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with RESTful services.
  • Knowledge of messaging brokers.
  • Experience in developing applications using microservices architecture.
  • Proficient in at least one of the following frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience with Python and R programming languages.
  • Prior experience as a Java Developer in the financial services sector.
Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a Java Developer in Securities Lending or Prime Brokerage.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments.
  • Experience using JIRA and AutoSys tools.
