Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Rigging Foreman to enhance our rigging department. This role will be based out of our Raleigh, NC office, focusing on projects within the Raleigh/Durham area. The majority of assignments will be within a short commute, ensuring you can return home each evening. A valid OSHA 30 certification is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up hoisting apparatus for the installation and positioning of structural steel components.
  • Secure steel components to the hoisting cable using chains, cables, or ropes.
  • Communicate with the operator of the hoisting equipment to facilitate the lifting and placement of steel components.
  • Guide components into place using tag lines.
  • Adjust steel components into approximate positions while supported by hoisting devices.
  • Utilize tools such as turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools to finalize positioning of components.
  • Align holes in components with corresponding holes in previously installed members using drift pins or wrenches.
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of components using plumb bobs and levels.
  • Secure aligned components temporarily until they can be permanently fastened or welded.
  • Modify steel components as necessary.
  • Identify and respond to hazardous conditions or situations.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be prepared for potential travel as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The role involves working in various environments including offices, shops, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties. Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions is expected. Candidates must be able to access all areas of the property, including elevated positions and confined spaces. Effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential, and the ability to lift up to fifty pounds is required. The position demands physical stamina, including standing for extended periods, bending, and working in confined spaces or awkward positions.
