Certified Radiology Technologist
Performs imaging procedures at a technical level, providing care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area. Knowledge of the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and safety in the Magnetic Resonance environment is essential. The role involves providing protection to patients and personnel in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Key responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for Magnetic Resonance procedures, thoroughly explaining exams and answering patients' questions. The technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, including neuro, body, and extremity, following protocols set by a Radiologist. Additionally, they perform venous access on all patients requiring IV contrast administration as directed by a Radiologist.
The technologist is responsible for entering necessary data into Radiology Imaging System, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System Image Management Systems. They process images as necessary and have the ability to identify anatomy on images. Quality control tests of equipment are performed, and any irregularities are reported. The technologist notifies Team Leader and appropriate maintenance personnel of equipment malfunctions.
Shared responsibilities include ordering supplies and notifying appropriate personnel of supply levels. The technologist acts as a Radiology liaison, providing radiological support to physicians as requested, and refers problems to Team Leader. Imaging exams and procedure tray set up require access and handling of non-controlled medications.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment, and the technologist must have a Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology. The schedule includes Sat/Sun 830a-9pm & Monday 2p-230a, with some call required. The shift is Rotation (United States of America), with Scheduled Weekly Hours: 3- 3x12s.
