Job Title: Security Project Technician

At TEEMA, we're seeking a highly skilled Security Project Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, testing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of security systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, test, repair, and service security systems and equipment, including security, fire alarm, and building automation systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Read complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements.
  • Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
  • Write non-routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
  • Act as the customer's best service provider at all times, ensuring client satisfaction and taking ownership of onsite projects.
  • May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
  • Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques, and standards, as well as suggestions for product improvements.
  • Participate or assist with developing customer presentations or similar new business development activities.
  • Execute all technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets, including preparation of project deliverables, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support.
  • Identify potential project risks, communicate to appropriate parties, and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assist in the overall coordination of specific projects, including supervision and oversight of subcontractors and installation work, making recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope, and identifying ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Using technical knowledge, skills, and experience, mentor and train less experienced staff. May supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance. Provide performance feedback to management regarding Project Specialist I and II.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements:
  • College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum experience: 3-7 years relevant.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
