The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health is designed for new graduate nurses to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. As a Nurse-Resident, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, refining your nursing knowledge and skills while participating in quality and core curriculum classes, professional development workshops, and peer support groups.
You will be responsible for managing clinical situations, adhering to policy and procedure requirements, and demonstrating a commitment to Prisma Health's Compassion Standards, Mission, Vision, and Values. This is a unique opportunity to launch your nursing career with a solid foundation and a focus on excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment: Collect patient data, complete required forms, and identify patient problems/needs.
- Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporate the plans of other disciplines.
- Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards, make referrals to multidisciplinary support services, and act as an advocate and coordinator of patient care.
- Evaluation: Record patient care delivered, make and record observations related to impending or associated problems, and implement nursing measures related to impending or associated problems.
- Leadership: Delegate nursing care to appropriate personnel, integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice, and recognize unit problems and take responsibility for documenting same.
Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required. No previous experience is required. Candidates with greater than 12 months of experience are not eligible.
Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina. BLS required. In lieu of RN licensure upon hire, a temporary license/Graduate Nurse licensure may be accepted upon receipt of diploma, authorization to test, and NCLEX testing date.
