Furniture Repair Technician Role SummaryThe Furniture Repair Technician is a crucial member of the American Furniture Warehouse team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining the warehouse's operations. Key duties include evaluating damaged merchandise, performing daily repairs on stock items, damaged products, and customer-owned goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
• Reconstruct furniture, replace parts, and modify or rebuild missing components as needed.
• Inspect items according to instructions and report damaged goods to the supervisor.
• Comprehend all methods of repair for wood, upholstery, glass, and assembly of RTA products.
• Perform routine maintenance procedures as instructed.
• Maintain a repair log and notify the manager if an item cannot be repaired.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Competencies and Skills:
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
• Organization and attention to detail are critical.
• High energy level and persistence are required.
Desired Qualifications:
• Capability to operate equipment necessary for the job.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and communicate with all team members.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in furniture repair.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
Physical Demands:
