Job Overview

The Flagstaff Unified School District #1 is seeking a highly skilled Medical Professional to join our team at Camp Colton. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional student services and ensuring the health and well-being of all campers and staff.

About the Role

This seasonal position involves working as part of a dynamic team to provide routine and emergency medical care within the parameters of certification. You will be based at Camp Colton and be available 24 hours a day to respond to any medical needs that may arise. The ideal candidate will have experience in a field-based setting and enjoy working with children.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical attention to students and staff within the parameters of certification (RN, PM, EMT) and in accordance with FUSD's medical protocol.
• Orient camp staff to medical protocol/procedure, inform staff of pertinent student-related health issues, and provide staff with medical supplies for field-based programs.
• Manage and ensure the functionality and cleanliness of the Camp's medical office, supplies, and equipment.
• Review and maintain medical office paperwork and student medical forms.
• Ensure the proper storage and administration of medications per student medical forms.
• Document all medical activities and deliver weekly documentation to the Camp Director.
• Perform triage duties and support the Camp's risk management plan and protocol.
• Assist the Camp Director with ensuring overall Camp safety and provide leadership and support to staff and students.

Requirements

• Active license: RN, PM, EMT, or equivalent.
• Fingerprint clearance card (IVP card).
• Prior Camp or field-based medical experience preferred.
• Enjoys working in an outdoor setting and with children.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $29.80-$447/hour, depending on experience and certification level. This rate includes both day and night shifts. Please note that this job is considered shift work and is not typically eligible for overtime pay.
