Job Description

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to partner with a great manufacturer. This is a 1st shift, direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times, utilizing necessary safety equipment.
  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on machinery and equipment without supervision.
  • Provide support to manufacturing by maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment in a professional manner.
  • Contact external technical support from equipment manufacturers when required.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery and equipment.
  • Utilize general fabrication skills, including MIG and TIG welding, plasma cutting, and torch cutting.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to basic electrical tasks, utilizing blueprints and meters without the need for supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and diagrams to identify mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Disassemble and repair mechanical components with minimal oversight.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment.
  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks, such as installing water, air, and drain lines, and repairing sinks, toilets, and urinals.
  • Use HVAC skills to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, including industrial ovens and exhaust fans.
  • Assist external contractors with the installation and repair of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic systems, including replacing airlines, valves, and cylinders.
  • Work with hydraulic systems, replacing hoses, pumps, and motors as needed.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the day.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and control stock of necessary supplies.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Two years of formal technical training in industrial maintenance or building repair, plus at least four years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician. Alternatively, eight years of field experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Journeyman certification is a plus but not required.
  • Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or industrial/commercial equipment repair.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English.
  • Proficiency with operating power tools and heavy machinery.
  • Capability to safely execute all job functions.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Experience operating lathe and milling machines is advantageous.
