In this position, you will be instrumental in managing subcontractors and vendors, preparing bids, controlling costs, scheduling, and engaging with clients. You will oversee the project from initiation to completion, with your efforts directly influencing project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting project directors in responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), including the creation of preliminary estimates, timelines, and other proposal documentation. Participation in client presentations may be required.
  • Monitoring the advancement of design documents, participating in design review meetings, and providing insights on constructability, as well as scope and cost modifications.
  • Preparing bid packages and invitations to bid, evaluating and analyzing bids, qualifying subcontractors, and awarding contracts and major purchase orders.
  • Collaborating with the director of construction and core personnel to establish job organization, including the requirements for superintendents and project construction engineers.
  • Coordinating with governing authorities for permits, inspections, and final project approvals in collaboration with architects and engineers.
  • Maintaining control over submittals, including scheduling, receiving, reviewing, approving, and expediting submissions from suppliers and subcontractors to align with the project timeline.
  • Managing client relationships, including conducting progress meetings, handling correspondence, providing periodic reports, processing change orders, and addressing client inquiries.
  • Preparing payment requisitions and other necessary project invoicing, optimizing project cash flow through timely invoicing and collections.
  • Drafting and securing owner acceptance of contract change orders, issuing modifications to subcontracts and purchase orders post-acceptance, and updating the budget in the summary cost report.
  • Reviewing and overseeing project progress, quality, and safety, collaborating with the superintendent to implement necessary corrections to comply with contractual and company policies.
  • Contributing to the development of construction personnel through mentoring and on-the-job training.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in the design of commercial and industrial infrastructure, preferably in the aviation sector.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management.
  • Proficiency in resource management, including budgets, schedules, and materials, in a setting with multiple competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of estimating, construction methodologies, engineering principles, equipment, and technology.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, along with excellent organizational, supervisory, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required by project demands.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute the company's vision and values of teamwork, excellence, service, and trust.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit various locations, as well as the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity for using a keyboard, operating equipment, and reading application/form information. The associate frequently needs to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
