Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing respiratory therapy treatments to patients with heart and lung abnormalities in assigned hospitals, including intensive care and emergency rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and administering respiratory therapy treatments to ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.
  • Setting up and monitoring complex respiratory equipment, such as volume and pressure ventilators.
  • Performing routine respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen, therapeutic aerosols, and airway care.
  • Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and taking corrective action based on established procedures.
  • Determining the effectiveness of therapy and making recommendations to physicians.
  • Providing resuscitation services, participating in orientations, and providing educational services to students.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • One year of recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care.
  • License to practice as a respiratory care practitioner through the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire.

Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the department's defined specific populations served.
