Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a robust background in clinical nutrition to join our team. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality dietary services in an acute care environment.

Work Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8 schedule, with shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to float to different units as needed is essential.

Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year in an acute care inpatient setting is required. First-time travelers are welcome.
  • Certifications: Current BLS certification and a valid State License as a Registered Dietitian (RD) are mandatory.
  • Clinical Expertise: Familiarity with typical diagnoses encountered in an acute care hospital, including but not limited to heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, stroke, trauma, oncology, renal failure, gastrointestinal issues, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and respiratory failure.
Clinical Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work across various units, including:

  • Medical ICU
  • Cardiovascular ICU
  • Neuro ICU
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
  • Progressive Care Units
  • Medical and Surgical Units
  • Rehabilitation Unit
  • Orthopedic Unit
  • Obstetrics
  • Neonatal ICU

Key responsibilities include performing Nutrition Focused Physical Exams, identifying characteristics of malnutrition, and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

This role will primarily involve working with adult and geriatric populations. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, focused, and efficient, valuing quality and accuracy over sheer volume of work.
