Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at St. Luke's Health–Brazosport Hospital. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance of supplies and equipment for selected specialty
  • Assist surgical team in the scrubbing role according to CHI St. Luke's policies and procedures
  • Perform surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure
  • Function as a resource for at least one specific service
  • Utilize/open supplies judiciously and offer suggestions for quality and cost containment
  • Actively participate in product evaluations and assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
  • Assist RN in updating preference and work closely with the instrument room as service specialist/instrument liaison
  • Assist in housekeeping duties as directed to ensure a safe patient environment and efficient room turnover
  • Work assigned shifts, responding when called upon for additional or emergency service as necessary and on-call according to Perioperative policies
  • Actively participate in providing in-services and continuing education
  • Precept students and new employees and complete preceptor orientation paperwork within established time frames
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required
Pay Range

$25.25 - $36.61 /hour
