Float Pool Scheduler

Mercyhealth is seeking a skilled Float Pool Scheduler - Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for assigning Float Pool/Per Diem Pool nursing staff to various nursing units within the hospital, working closely with the Nurse Manager and RN House Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules in our staffing/scheduling program
- Generate reports from the staffing/scheduling program as needed
- Prepare staffing information for shifts and assign staff as directed, with review by the Manager or RN House Coordinator
- Deploy fiscally responsible staffing to meet the needs of our patients and nursing units
- Inform nursing units of staff being assigned to them
- Complete shift report sheets and daily scheduling sheets
- Facilitate the placement of new staff members to the correct units/areas of need
- Assist with education and training of staff members
- Basic computer skills for data entry and proficiency with electronic patient documentation
- Professional phone etiquette and communication skills
- Float to various units based on identified patient care needs
- Transport patients within the facility as directed
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
- Passing the IL Health Care Workers Background Check
