As a Law Enforcement Officer with the City of Grapevine, TX, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and order. This position requires a high level of integrity, professionalism, and physical fitness.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect criminal activities, responding to emergency calls as needed.
- Initiate investigations, gather evidence, and apprehend suspects to enforce federal, state, and local laws.
- Prepare and present cases in court, testifying as necessary.
- Participate in crime prevention and education programs, collaborating with the community to promote public safety.
- Enforce traffic laws, issuing citations as required.
- High School Diploma or GED, plus a current Basic TCOLE Peace Officer's License from the State of Texas.
- At least 2 years of experience post FTO, or less than 2 years of experience post FTO with a Basic TCOLE Peace Officer's License.
- Valid Texas Driver's License, or ability to obtain one.
- No convictions, deferred adjudication, or probation for assault/family violence, Class A Misdemeanor or higher, or sale of illegal narcotics.
This position requires regular exposure to various environmental conditions, including bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, animals/wildlife, vibration, fumes and/or noxious odors, traffic, moving machinery, heights, disease/pathogens, toxic/caustic chemicals, explosives, and violence.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this position include regular walking, standing, sitting, stooping, jumping, stretching, or lifting, with frequent reaching, climbing, or balancing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and more than 150 pounds occasionally.
