Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Truck Operator to join our team at Canpack - North America. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to unload and load products, as well as moving and storing inventory within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain the technical condition of the forklift and other handling equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Record pre-use checks and report any faults or breakdowns to the lead.
  • Unload and load products, packaging, and raw materials from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places using the forklift.
  • Complete orders for distribution, working to quality standards and provided instructions.
  • Ensure each product pallet is secured for transit and labelled correctly.
  • Load goods or other materials onto the truck for transportation in accordance with work security regulations and instructions.
  • Move stock and goods using the forklift throughout the warehouse according to instructions.
  • Use the SAP RFID scanning system equipment correctly to ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Transport materials to the production department, complying with FIFO procedures.
  • Clean the forklift and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.
  • Perform general warehouse duties when the forklift is not required, including general housekeeping and maintenance.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience operating a forklift, preferably with propane, gas, or diesel experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and read/write English.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, and SAP.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and a willingness to grow with the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift licensed
  • Packaging experience
Working Conditions

This is a warehouse-based role, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all plant GMP and BRC requirements.
