Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure physician's orders are legible and transcribed accurately, and notify physicians of significant changes in patients' status.
  • Administer medications accurately and document controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
  • Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed.
  • Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful of personal space, and providing direct attention.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in patient treatment.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility.
  • Current Arkansas RN license.
  • First Aid, CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
