The Wound Care Nurse at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center plays a vital role in the care and education of patients with acute and chronic wounds. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients and contribute to the improvement of patient outcomes related to wound healing.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with wounds and injuries, evaluating their condition and developing effective care plans.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to determine the best course of treatment and make recommendations for additional therapies or changes in care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their caregivers on wound care, infection prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention.
- Manage patient care plans, track progress, and coordinate treatment and referrals as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary prevention programs, rounds, and committees to promote best practices in wound care.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong clinical skills and experience in wound care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the patient care team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
