Job Summary:

The Lead Sous Chef is a key member of the culinary team, responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee kitchen staff, develop staff, and maintain a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing menu development, inventory management, and food cost control.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement kitchen procedures to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a hotel or resort kitchen, with a focus on supervisory or management roles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
