Job Overview

As a Millwork Shop Foreman at Re-Stair, you will oversee the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient and safe production of custom staircase parts and matching stains to meet deadlines. This role involves overseeing work in progress, coordinating material preparation for projects, maintaining quality control, and collaborating with clients and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the production floor and oversee our part-time Stain Mixer and full-time In-House Finisher, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and material staging.
  • Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring materials are prepared for installers and installation timelines are met.
  • Coordinate the preparation of materials for projects based on customer approvals and contracted work. Communicate with office staff and installers to assist in scheduling installations.
  • Address and resolve issues that arise during the staging and installation process.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to workplace safety standards and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to quickly learn how to operate CRM software.
  • Experience updating Excel spreadsheets for detailed reporting.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a woodworking or warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team, coordinate projects, and maintain quality control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and directly with clients.
