Modern Hydrogen is actively seeking a dedicated Junior Laboratory Technician to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of advanced mechanical and chemical processing apparatus. Your tasks will include assembling and fine-tuning test setups, improving procedural documentation, and contributing to various projects within a dynamic research atmosphere.
This position requires working during the night shift, specifically from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM PST, Monday through Friday, with occasional shifts starting on Sunday.
As this is an onsite position, the Junior Laboratory Technician will be expected to work at our facility in Woodinville, WA, and participate in quarterly company gatherings in the Seattle area, aimed at strengthening colleague relationships and fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain mechanical and chemical processing equipment according to established protocols.
- Assemble test setups and other apparatus following technical drawings.
- Identify, analyze, and implement enhancements to operational procedures.
- Support a range of projects in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized workspace while promoting continuous improvement.
- Travel may be required up to 20% to various project sites across the United States.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, machinery maintenance, or a related field.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Ability to safely utilize standard tools such as drills and wrenches.
- Capability to follow written instructions and technical schematics.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and communication platforms.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test as per site requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in relevant industries.
- Experience with chemical processing equipment maintenance and operation.
- Leadership qualities in safety and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills for conveying technical information.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing requirements in a dynamic environment.
