Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team at Steward Health Care, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a skilled nurse, you will be accountable for directing, planning, and organizing nursing activities on the ER unit, prioritizing patient, physician, and staff needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and intervene in emergency situations, providing rapid and decisive action to stabilize patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing.
- Previous clinical nursing experience in ER desired.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
- All other certifications due within 90 days of hire, i.e., ACLS.
