We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Counselor to join our team at Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating clean bills, maximizing upfront collections, and ensuring accurate account receivable balances.
Key Responsibilities- Collections and Revenue Cycle: Ensure timely and accurate collection of patient accounts, including self-pay and third-party payors. Generate clean bills and process Medicaid enrollments to maximize revenue.
- Patient Communication: Effectively communicate with patients and families regarding Parkland payment policies and public assistance programs. Provide clear explanations of financial obligations and assist with resolving any issues or concerns.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform admitting/registration activities, verify insurance benefits, and fully document all collection efforts in the system. Implement policies and procedures for admission/registration of all patients.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Review out-of-pocket yield reports daily to ensure that collection efforts meet hospital-specific targets. Monitor eligible days/visits and disseminate relevant information to clinical staff, MDs, and other departments in a timely manner.
- Education: High School degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Licenses: None required.
- Experience: Three to five years of admitting and/or Financial Counseling experience preferred.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of governmental and managed care payer requirements.
- Understanding of various 'Self Pay' account classifications and their applicable patient statement processes.
- Able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bilingual skills desirable.
- Additional Requirements: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and company-paid disability benefits. We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
