Substitute Nurse

This is a unique opportunity to join the Southeast Polk Community School District as a Substitute School Nurse. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of our students.

The Substitute School Nurse will provide healthcare services to students, including administering first aid, maintaining health records, and reporting to parents and school personnel on student health matters.

• Develop and implement school health programs to promote student health and well-being.
• Observe students to detect health needs and provide guidance to teachers on screening students for health defects.
• Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
• Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters.
• Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
• Make recommendations on health needs of individual students.
• Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools.

• BSN Degree in Nursing and RN certification.
• Preference given to current first aid and CPR certificates.
• Preference given to experience and/or training with youth.
