Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL A Commercial Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting food and food-related products to our customers in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Immediately report any safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight in an accurate and legible fashion.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures, collect money (cash or checks) where required, and ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
Requirements
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift
