About the Position

Palo Verde Community College District is seeking a qualified Adjunct Sociology Instructor to join our team. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach sociology courses to a diverse student population
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course materials
  • Maintain accurate records and submit grades in a timely manner
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Provide support and guidance to students outside of class
Requirements
  • Masters in Sociology or related field
  • Experience teaching sociology courses at the community college level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Sociology or related field
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices
