The primary responsibility of this role involves the configuration and development within the Production Planning module, which is essential for monitoring and documenting the manufacturing workflow, from raw material conversion to the final product.

This position is pivotal in optimizing Planning, Production execution, and inventory management through ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP systems for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Production Planning (PP) activities to facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive ERP program, encompassing design, documentation, data migration, configuration, testing, user training, and progress reporting.
  • Evaluate and authorize PP configuration modifications in the SAP system, ensuring compliance with change management protocols.
  • Draft functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP developers to conduct thorough testing for system improvements and corrections during various project phases.
  • Provide backup support across different functional areas and share expertise with colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • Work in conjunction with Basis and ABAP teams to manage custom programs, batch jobs, and security updates.
  • Establish and maintain defined communication channels and stakeholder groups, serving as a central point of contact.
  • Assess organizational PP functionality requirements in alignment with business objectives and strategic direction.
  • Participate in risk-based audits of existing and proposed technology systems, identifying IT risks, evaluating control measures, and assisting in the preparation of formal reports to ensure information security and resilience.
  • Support PP functionality in SAP as stipulated by service level agreements.
  • Adhere to application support processes, ensuring that PP requests and incidents are managed according to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with business and technical resources, as well as project managers, to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and review of a systems capability strategy that aligns with the strategic needs of the organization.
  • Take initiative in investigative work to identify requirements and specify effective business processes through enhancements in information systems and data management.
  • Analyze business processes, identify alternative solutions, evaluate feasibility, and recommend innovative approaches, typically leveraging technology components.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and the overarching information management strategy.
  • Maintain awareness of global organizational needs and advocate for the advantages of a unified IT deployment approach.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and functionalities that can address challenges or facilitate new operational methods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Preferred SAP Certifications.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing software systems, particularly within the Manufacturing sector, with a track record of integrating and servicing large enterprises.
  • A comprehensive background in PP configuration, including both implementation and production support in a manufacturing context.
  • Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of production support experience, including offshore/onshore staffing models, and 6-8 years of overall SAP PP experience.
  • Experience with PP sub-modules such as Material Requirement Planning, BOM Management, Engineering Change Management, Capacity Planning, Production Orders, and Shop Floor Controls is essential; familiarity with MM, QM, VC, and PS modules is advantageous.
  • Experience with VC for BOM and routings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SAP PP and MES integration is beneficial.
  • Successful completion of multiple full-lifecycle SAP implementations.
  • Experience with SAP's Solution Manager, Master Data Management (MDM), and GRC tools.
  • Knowledge of integration points with other SAP modules.
  • Proficient in system tools for creating RICEF items: CATT, LSMW, ABAP Query & Report Writer.
  • Experienced in scoping, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, cutover, and support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a history of resolving complex business challenges within or across SAP functional areas.
  • Proficient in managing business demands, progress reporting, and status updates using service desk ticketing systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and Project.
  • Familiar with enterprise application configuration and support, IT Service Management concepts, and the ITIL framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating organizational change management initiatives related to process and system modernization.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with service providers and consulting resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.
