The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in the dialysis treatment process, supporting clinical staff to deliver prescribed treatments. Our PCTs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe care and high-quality outcomes for every patient.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in infection control and risk management activities
  • Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan
  • Record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
  • Set up and break down dialysis blood systems for treatment
  • Insert and remove patient access needles
  • Monitor patients during dialysis and document changes
  • Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight
  • Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly
  • Maintain professional working relationships and patient privacy
  • Maintain and track inventory
  • Perform laboratory work
