Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced archaeologist and anthropologist to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students, conducting research, and contributing to the intellectual vibrancy of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses in archaeology and anthropology, including Introduction to Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, and Archaeological Methods and Theory
  • Develop and teach specialized courses in the candidate's area of expertise
  • Conduct research and publish scholarly articles
  • Advise students in junior and senior theses
  • Contribute to departmental and institutional service
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in anthropology
  • Teaching experience and a strong record of teaching excellence
  • Ability to contribute to the intellectual vibrancy of our community through culturally relevant pedagogy and curricular diversity
  • Commitment to ensuring equitable outcomes for racially and ethnically minoritized and marginalized students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to teach courses in multiple disciplines
  • Strong research and publication record
