Position Overview:

The Forensic Nursing Specialist at Methodist Health System is dedicated to delivering empathetic support to individuals affected by sexual violence. Key responsibilities encompass performing medical-forensic evaluations, administering preventive care, documenting physical findings, and facilitating referrals for ongoing support.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
  • Proficient in independent work and effective time management
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Valid Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license and certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

Key Duties:

  • Conduct medical-forensic evaluations with photographic documentation
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld
  • Provide expert testimony in court settings
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Be available for on-call duties and flexible scheduling
