The Nursing Education and Infection Control Specialist plays a crucial role in designing and executing continuous educational initiatives for the Nursing Department at Sagewood. As the Infection Control Coordinator, this position involves gathering and evaluating data, upholding infection prevention protocols, and overseeing the reporting of infections while ensuring effective Antibiotic Stewardship practices.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: A valid RN license in Arizona is mandatory. A minimum of two years of experience in training and development within long-term care settings is essential, with a preference for candidates holding wound certification.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematical proficiency is necessary.
- REASONING ABILITY: Capability to comprehend, adhere to, and advocate for established policies and procedures; ability to identify emergency situations and respond appropriately; adeptness in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks efficiently; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and the capacity to tailor teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
- OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Current CPR certification is required. Familiarity with computer systems is encouraged. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with leadership and instructional abilities. A deep understanding and compassion for the unique needs of the elderly population are vital.
