Job Summary:

The CAD Technician will be responsible for creating and revising Computer-Aided Design (CAD) layouts, detail drawings, construction drawings, sketches, elevations, and diagrams for audio-visual systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop CAD layouts, detail drawings, and construction drawings for audio-visual systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to set up sheet layouts, templates, and details
  • Draft finished designs from field/hand sketches and rough draft documents
  • Develop and adapt design and drawing standards to company production processes
  • Generate as-built drawings to complete project closeout documentation
  • Conduct site surveys to collect accurate information and translate customer requirements into functional architectural designs
  • Cultivate a common purpose and teamwork among various company units and ensure timely and effective communication
Requirements:
  • Certificate/diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and 1-3 years of experience in AV integration or architectural/construction firm
  • Proven design and project planning skills and experience in creating designs and documentation for proposals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with specialized and standard office productivity software
  • Ability to make important decisions under tight timelines and in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in drafting and documentation of audiovisual systems
  • AV industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS and CTS-D
  • Comfortable with frequent and direct written communication
