Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (Per Diem) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of cardiology patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the cardiologists in delivering cardiology treatment plans, patient education, and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Perform cardiology inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-ups
- Provide peri-procedural patient management for interventional cardiology, peripheral, electrophysiology, and structural procedures
- Responsible for the assessment and treatment of cardiology patients, including development and execution of individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and self-care
- Document patient history and physical findings, assessment, and plan promptly in the electronic medical record patient chart
- Determine and complete orders, including diagnostic testing, labs, and medications within the EMR in accordance with institutional policy and procedures
- Assess pre and post-procedure patient status, discuss procedural findings, answer appropriate questions, and provide educational and emotional support to patients and family members
- Communicate with referring physicians and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Philadelphia
- Strong knowledge with medical terminology and procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in using scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment
