Position Overview:
The Sommelier Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the comprehensive wine program onboard, which encompasses sales, inventory management, and adherence to proper requisitioning protocols.
This role also involves collaborating with the dining staff to enhance wine sales during meal services in the Main Dining Rooms, ensuring an exceptional wine experience for guests.
Assigned to a specific station as designated by the Head Sommelier and approved by the Restaurant Manager, the Sommelier Specialist will follow a weekly posted schedule in the wine cellar.
In addition to beverage service, responsibilities include daily restocking of the wine cellar and, on occasion, assisting with the loading of wines onto the vessel.
A strong knowledge of the wine list is essential, enabling the Sommelier Specialist to engage with guests and provide informed wine recommendations. Expertise in wine and food pairings is critical for this position.
Guest Satisfaction:
Accountable for meeting the established guest satisfaction targets related to wine service, the Sommelier Specialist will adhere to all company standards and sequences of service while on duty.
