Job Summary

The State of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Clinician to join our team at the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced skilled nursing care to incarcerated adults with complex health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and ongoing care to patients with unique and complex health needs
  • Assess and treat patients, assist physicians in providing medical services, and develop and coordinate treatment plans with the treatment team
  • Manage medications, provide emergency care, and document patient information in the electronic medical record
  • Develop and participate in educational programs for staff and patients on safe completion of activities of daily living, chronic disease management, and treatment plans
  • Consult with uniformed and non-uniformed staff and follow the nursing process and Correctional Nursing Standards in practice
