Job Overview

Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time bilingual Spanish-speaking Family Support Worker within our Early Childhood program.

Our team engages with families through in-home visits, connects them to local resources, and facilitates support groups, making a significant impact on the lives of the families we serve.

Key Responsibilities

As a Family Support Worker (FSW), you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of children and families. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of young children.
  • Providing education, support, and advocacy in parenting.
  • Linking families to essential resources and promoting optimal child health and development.
  • Assessing family needs and abilities continuously.
  • Assisting families in creating personalized support plans and empowering them to achieve their goals.

This home visitation program is part of a national initiative aimed at empowering families to maintain health and resilience.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an Associate's Degree in a health, education, or human services-related field, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience working with children and families. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a requirement for this position.
