Job Responsibilities:

The Transit Operations Supervisor oversees daily field operations of transit bus operators, ensuring that services run safely and on schedule. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring all aspects of revenue service operations, including schedule adherence and fare collections.
  • Supervising and conducting routine checks of transit operators to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Responding to and resolving passenger incidents, and coordinating detours due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintaining constant communication with transit vehicle operators and dispatchers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assisting with incident investigations and providing necessary support to operators and emergency personnel.
  • Driving transit vehicles as needed.

Job Requirements:

This position demands flexibility with working hours, including the ability to work in various weather conditions. The incumbent must:

  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrate physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting and handling equipment.
  • Have a solid understanding of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should have a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in bus operations or fleet dispatching, along with one year of public interaction experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience, preferably in the transit or transportation sector.
  • Must possess a valid Class B Driver's License and meet other specific requirements.
