We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to provide top-notch care for our infant son in Fairfax, VA. As a temporary nanny position, this role is expected to last at least until the end of March, with the possibility of extension.

The family also has a 2-year-old son who attends full-time daycare during the week, but there may be occasional times when the caregiver will be asked to care for him as well. However, 99% of the time, care will be for our infant son.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional care and engage fully with the infant throughout the day.
  • Follow and adhere to a daily schedule directed by the parents, ensuring the child's needs are met with tenderness and consistency.
  • Create a safe, loving, and enriching environment for the child, prioritizing their safety and addressing basic needs such as toileting, resting, and feeding.
  • Prepare meals and bottles as required, taking into account any food allergies.
  • Take the child on walks and engage in age-appropriate outdoor activities.
  • Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the infant's activities, well-being, and any health-related concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding areas after use.
  • Foster interactive development through conversation, reading, play, singing, and dancing, avoiding screen-time.
  • Be flexible with weekend hours if needed.

About the Role: This position requires a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience working with infants and toddlers, along with at least 2-3 references or letters of recommendation from previous employers. The ideal candidate should be able to commit to the position at least until the end of March.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Clean criminal and driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Ability to work independently while a parent is teleworking during the day.
  • Safety-conscious with the ability to use sound judgment in caregiving.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the family's needs, including potential weekend availability.
  • Short nails for safe handling of the infant and a willingness to wash hands upon arrival to maintain hygiene.
  • Willingness to wear a mask if needed to prevent the spread of germs.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $23-$25, negotiable based on experience. We strive to provide a fair and attractive compensation package to attract the best candidates.
